We all want the funeral or memorial for your person to be as meaningful and unique as they were. Together, we can create a beautiful ceremony, and I can do as little or as much as you’d like.

My goal is to honour the person who has died in a way that begins to create healing for everyone who attends. Funerals don’t have to be formal, sombre, or held in a church (though they absolutely can be if that’s what you’d like). I’d love to chat with you about your ideas and what you might want. The sky’s the limit (as long as it’s legal!).

Annie has such a warm approach when dealing with grieving families trying to organise the most fitting tribute for their loved ones. Annie was a pillar of support in the lead up to the memorial and remained completely flexible throughout the whole process. Her knowledge and guidance for these types of services was invaluable and really put our minds at ease.

In the days leading up to my beautiful Dad’s death, I chanced upon Picaluna while searching the internet for contemporary funeral services in Brisbane. Straight away I was drawn to the warm, friendly faces of the women on their website. Annie (Caulfield) and Clare came to our house and sat with my Mum and I for hours, listening to our stories and getting to know us and my Dad intimately. Every occasion we met with them they held the space so authentically and compassionately. They listened carefully and were able to guide us not only in arranging a simple, very private cremation but also later devising a unique and extraordinary Celebration of Life event for my Dad all the while respecting our ongoing deep grief. Annie checked in on us almost daily, gently moving us through our list of “to do’s” while also making sure we were OK. Nothing was too difficult or too unusual for Annie and her team. She intuitively knew when to stand back and when to step up, and handled the whole process with humour, kindness, calm and efficiency - exactly what we needed!
The day of the Celebration went flawlessly and joyously, and the team of Picaluna women (elegantly dressed in navy blue) were there to graciously help with any request while also making themselves unobtrusive. We cannot recommend the services of Picaluna, and in particular Annie, enough. They are more than your average funeral service. They walked with us through this terrible time in our lives while also helping us achieve the send off my Dad deserved, and which his family and friends all needed. Thank you, Annie and co.
